| Abstract: | The debt and development problems of many countries have compelled nearly unanimous recognition that their solutions require sustained economic growth and increased productive investment is essential to such growth. The international corporate investment scene as it relates to developing countries is surveyed. The challenges facing all concerned are outlined and the international response is described, focusing on a new initiative by the World Bank to encourage international corporate investment that is the establishment of the Multilaterial Investment Guarantee Agency. |
