| Abstract: | The market for bandages and dressings in the UK is overviewed. The market has two constituent parts: adhesive dressings (precut plasters, uncut strips or spools) and surgical dressings (lint, bandages etc.). Key trends are listed. The market is static in volume terms, though growing at approximately 6 p.c. per year in value. The first part is the larger sector which accounted for two thirds of the market in 1989. The second sector has declined since 1986. Tables showing retail sales of bandages and dressings 85-89, retail sales of adhesive dressings by type 87/89, usership of adhesive plasters and other dressings 89, brand shares 88 (adhesive dressings) and sales of bandages and dressings 89-94 (outlook) are presented. |
