Abstract:This article examines different IPO methods in an environment where the number of investors and the accuracy of investorsÂ’ information are endogenous. The methods under examination are book building, discriminatory auctions and uniform price auctions. The author suggests that the increasing popularity of book building in IPOs is due to the advantages of its allocational flexibility.
