Abstract: | Value-based management (VBM) is based on on the notion that the central objective for all publicly traded companies is to maximize shareholder value. Effective use of VBM generally involves dramatic changes in the way an organization deals with everything from budgeting to goal setting to capital allocation to performance management, even to compensation. To achieve results, an organization basically has to live and breathe VBM. And doing that may mean more change than it is ready for right now. That is why a critical first step in considering VBM use is a VBM audit. |
