Abstract:In the mid-19th century, Great Britain led the world's Industrial Revolution and was the world's wealthiest nation. Today, manufacturing investment and productivity in Britain lags well behind its fellow industrial nations. However, manufacturing companies from abroad, such as the Japanese automotive company, Nissan Motor Manufacturing U.K., demonstrates that plants in Britain can again set world standards.
