Abstract: | International competitiveness is an issue of the highest importance in a nation like Switzerland. The country has population smaller than the city of New York, and therefore a small domestic market, and has a poor endowment of natural resources. As a result, its prosperity depends to a large extent on its industries' performance in foreign markets. In light of the fundamental geopolitical and economic changes in the world, Switzerland is taking steps to revitalize its international competitiveness. |
