Abstract: | Nearly three yers ago, trade unions and employers' organizations agreed to launch a process of industry-level negotiations aimed at ending the then-prevalent problem of sectoral agreements providing for minimum pay rates below the SMIC minimum wage. The consequent talks on upgrading pay and renovating job classification system have generally been successful, and the social partners are to continue and reinforce the initial exercise which came to an end last year. More recently, negotiations have commenced in sectors such as telemarketing, business centres and football clubs. In a few sectors wher no bargaining solution has been found, the collective agreement of another sector is implemented. |
