Abstract: | Egypt's attempts to attract private investment have been patchy. Some industrial investment is taking place, in the motor sector for instance, and private money is finding its way into agro-industry, food processing, textiles and ceramics. But so far the overall impact has been relatively small beer. The inflow is small compared with the economy's investment needs as Egypt is at the point in the economic cycle where savings should be feeding into investments. |
