Abstract:Hyperinflation, debt repayment defaults and unemployment are plaguing many Latin American countries, especially Argentina. Similar hyperinflationary plague is now entering Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, etc.) where they are being advised as a desirable "shock treatment" for failing economies. It is shown that the hyperinflation in Argentina cannot be explained by economic consideration alone. Casual loops including economic, cultural, social, political, geographic and historical factors are presented and analyzed. A theoretical model is also developed. It is shown how a morphogenetic map of any country can be depicted. The major conclusion is that complex change processes need a critical mass of social actors to be involved.
