Abstract:This paper offers an in depth analysis of the doing, undoing and being of gender in the context of the UK Sex Discrimination Act (hereafter as SDA) 1975. The examination is based on case material about claims under the SDA in UK employment tribunals. These cases document the gendering of the legal process, both in substance and process. The article provides also a discussion on the relationship between the researcher and the research process.
