Abstract:This article aims at assessing the operation of the United Kingdom (UK) Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA 1998) during the first 10 years, considering its implications for the whistleblowing process. Drawing upon empirical research, it is concluded that PIDA 1998 has not adequately protected whistleblowers. There are 12 recommendations made for change.
