Abstract: | In this paper is presented a model that is used to assess progress in reducing bribery. The model components contain both hard law and soft law legislation components and enforcement and compliance components. The moral in bribery cases is discussed and also a term "moral imperialism" is presented, which is an argument for not imposing Western laws and values on other cultures. Also the latest trends in enforcement and prosecution are reviewed. The final section focuses on compliance processes for corporations aimed at reducing the risk of FCPA and related violations. The article concludes with a summary and suggestions for further research. |
