Abstract:Destructive narcissism is considered increasingly as a serious impairment to successful corporate leadership and ethical conduct. The Chief Executive Officer's letter to shareholders (an important medium of formal corporate communications) can potentially provide linguistic traces of destructive narcissism and insight to corporate leadership aspects and the company's ambient ethical culture. This potential is illustrated through selective analyses of the CEO letters of Enron, Starbucks, and General Motors.
