Abstract:Job descriptions may be written by someone in the personnel department or the department where the employee works or will be working. It is a formal written document, usually from one to three pages long. It should include: the date it was written, job status, position title, supervision received, supervision exercised, job summary, detailed duties and responsibilities, principal contacts, competency or position requirements, required education and experience, position previously held, career mobility, meetings to attend, reports to be filed. Job descriptions can be used to evaluate performance. Formats must be kept consistent.
