Abstract:A customized, organization-specific method of job evaluation and subsequent job-pay determinations can help to resolve some of today's most pressing issues in devising reward systems for professionals. Before developing organization-specific criteria, the project team or compensation professional responsible for the project must understand organizational goals and objectives. An assessment of organizational values is also needed. For more detailed information about specific job objectives, a thorough analysis of job descriptions is suggested. Some guidelines to make the jobs manageable are offered. Several important pay principles are outlined.
