Abstract:Customer tracking systems first appeared in the UK around five years ago and initially tended to be stand-alone applications offering a basic range of reports. There was little opportunity to cross-reference the data they could provide with the information from other store systems. The emphasis has now changed and integrated software systems are starting to emerge which allow customer movements to become a standard component both in measuring store and corporate performance and in tactical analysis of day-to-day trading.
