Abstract:The way in which charities have evolved in the past decades is presented by the author. Evolution is characterized by an increasing professionalization. The importance attached via the charity world to marketing data indicates that the industry is developing. The trend towards greater commercialization makes one wonder if the traditional concept of "charity" is not outmoded. The charities themselves no longer use the word. Instead, "non-profit" is more suitable, and "not for profit" is the trend. As to taxation, it is an aspiration for tax specialists to devise tax arrangements that will eventually benefit the work of the charity.
