Abstract:This study develops an economic model of adopter decisions with respect to environmental technologies. The model is applied empirically to the diffusion of biological waste-water treatemnt technologies in the Dutch food and beverage industry. The model may be interesting in incorporating learning about the characteristics of the technology in a rational choice model of adopter decisions.
