Abstract:It is argued that the massive infiltration of personal computers in a firm already involved in data processing can cause some disorder. Indeed, each user who can wait no more for an application the data processing section was to give, takes it upon himself to elaborate the necessary tool for his own management. It is argued that those who supported the use of personal computers in the firm become soon enough aware that the data they need is available in the mainframe. The personal computer then becomes a problem for all, as from one connection to another a traffic jam quickly appears.
