Abstract:By revealing an ambiguous conception (henceforth as: amb-cncp.) of nature in modern economic ontology, this study problematizes the reliance of ecological economics on neo-classical economic analysis. The rise in post-classical economics of this amb-cncp. is traced. The amb-cncp. displaced the idea of a natural moral economy in classical political economy.
