| Abstract: | This article provides a perspective for the relationship between sports events and tourism. The particular case analyzed was the year 2006 Commonwealth Games which took place in Melbourne, Australia. The impacts of this big event on the tourism were considered before, during and after the games. The authors highlight the importance of segmentation of international and domestic visitors and participants. |
