Abstract:This exploratory study investigates how managers and professionals see the ethical and social responsibility (SR) reputations of 60 well-known Australian and international companies, and how this influences their attitudes (here as: atts.) and behaviour (as: beh/s.) towards these organizations (as: orgs). In order to evaluate how ethical and socially responsible the 60 orgs. were seen, more than 350 MBA students, other postgraduate business students, and participants in Australian Institute of Management (Western Australia) management education programmes were surveyed in aiming to determine what these participants considered 'ethical' and 'socially responsible' beh/s. in orgs. It is also examined how the participants' beliefs influenced their atts. and intended beh/s. towards these orgs. The survey results indicate that many managers and professionals have clear views about the ethical and SR reputations of companies which affects their atts. towards these orgs. which in turn has an impact on their intended beh/s. towards them.
