| Abstract: | This is the first article in CIMA (The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) A-to-Z series on national economies and the accountancy profession around the world in countries in which the Institute has members and registered students. The word "chartered" indicates that the Institute has received a written grant of rights by the sovereign or the legislature. Charters are granted to companies (eg Hudson Bay Company), professional bodies such as CIMA itself and the like. This article is devoted to Australia, and her association with CIMA. |
