Abstract: | Ethical issues of international marketing have been of great significance in recent years, owing to publicity and controversy. Literature about ethics research and about business and marketing ethics research is reviewed. The executives charged with international marketing of 38 Australian firms have been surveyed on the types of ethical problems they have confronted. Bribery, cultural differences and pricing practices were the most commonly met ethical problems. An American sample cited bribery, government interference and customs clearance. Comparison revealed many similarities and some differences in the perceptions of Australian and American business managers and in their attitude towards ethical issues. |
