Abstract:The subject of this paper is labor productivity and resource allocation. The paper provides 1 chart and 10 graphs. It investigates the role of resource reallocation and firm dynamics in aggregate productivity growth. The paper also considers the dependence of aggregate productivity growth on performance of incumbents and the factors affecting the labor productivity growth. The article also pays attention to decomposition of labor productivity growth rates in manufacturing firms. The paper states that aggregate productivity growth largely depends on the performance of incumbents but also on the entry and exit of the firms.
