Abstract:In this article the authors examine the effect of international expansion in the Polish hospitality market that has radically changed hotel management practices in Poland and how these changes has effected the economic performance. The effect of these changes is studied by monitoring changes in the break-even point, operation leverage, the percentage share of variable costs in sales, margins of safety and other indicators reflecting economic impacts of applied management methods. The findings suggest that cost reduction resulting from the introduced new management methods should be replaced by measures targeted at stimulating revenue growth.
