Abstract:From a resource optimality point of view natural gas, whose production in association with crude oil, started around the same time, should play a large role as a fuel for economic activities. The low trend in domestic consumption within the energy system can be attributed to the capital intensive nature of gas supply systems and the historical subsidization of the prices of alternative fuels, especially petroleum products. Using an energy supply model, it is shown that an optimal structure of energy system should lead to a nineteen-fold increase in the utilization in thirty years. The requirements of large load users like power plants is expected to gear the development of pipeline projects.
