Abstract:In the area of Computer-Aided Software Engineering /CASE/, there is currently no commonly agreed model of information to govern the use of application development productivity tools such as code generators, fourth-generation languages, graphical analysis and design implements. IBM aims to change that with its recent announcement of AD/Cycle. It hopes to provide a standardized frame of reference for applications development. AD/Cycle is a set of plans , interfaces and standards. Applications, subsystems and methods used with AD/Cycle are described in detail.
