Abstract: | The purpose of this field study is to investigate the factors related to the effectiveness of end-user computing /EUC/ among end-users. A conceptual structural equation modeling technique is developed and used with partial least squares. The results show that computer anxiety and attitudes toward EUC are significantly affected by work experiences, end-user training, computer experience, and information center support. Computer anxiety also affects attitudes toward EUC. In addition, the number of tasks for which computers are used is directly affected by end-user training, computer experience, organizational support provided by information center and top management, task structure, and attitudes towards EUC. |
