| Abstract: | Nowadays, there is an interest in "critical management science" drawing on critical theory, particularly the work of Habermas. The paper reviews and discusses critically current developments in critical management science, and suggests a particular direction for future research. The basic critiques of both traditional and "soft" management science are provided. The main current areas of development are discussed in the substantive sections. First, Jackson's work on a system of systems methodologies is described and criticized. A number of attempts to produce critical methodology are reviewed, different theories of power are explored. |
