| Abstract: | The importance of banks and other financial institutions in the Swiss economy is analyzed, the political, legal and economic conditions of their activity are outlined. The strengths and weaknesses of the Swiss financial system are described, the system is compared to those of other countries. In order to analyse the positions of the three big banks of Switzerland, their policies are examined, distinguishing their national and international activities. It is concluded that the growing importance of their international activity reduces the dependence on the development of the national financial system. The domestic market is too little for these banks for a rentable business. |
