| Abstract: | There are few aspects of the workplace with which government is not concerned. The latest area to receive close scrutiny from Washington is the so-called glass ceiling, the supposed barrier to women rising to high management positions in American business. Section 101 of the Civil Rights Act of 1991 established a Glass Ceiling Comission, and the Labor Department announced a four-part program "to dismantle the glass ceiling," including conducting "compliance reviews of federal contractors." |
