Abstract:The cost of collecting and processing recyclable materials outweighs their value as a commodity that can be sold back to industry. Yet, because of this market uncertainty, companies can size the competitive high ground: there is a demand for green products. Farsighted players have already found profitable openings, others have increased market share with appropriate offerings. In addition, some managers made buying recycled products and investing in green research and development part of their business strategies. They challenge recycling myths, including the supposed high price and low quality of recycled products.
