Abstract: | This article describes a formula for strategic success which states that the profitability of a firm is optimized when its strategic behaviour is aligned with its environment. The formula was developed over a period of 25 years and has been extensively tested. The authors briefly review other prescriptions for profit optimizations which now compete for management attention, presents the formula, discuss the results of the field research, and describe a practical strategic diagnosis procedure to determine a firm's success in the future. |
