| Abstract: | The major instruments traded in the Italian markets are equities, warrants, corporate bonds and Italian government bonds (IGBs). There is also a very active domestic futures market, called MIF, for the trading of five-year and 10-year fixed-rate government securities. The Italian bond market, the third largest in the world, after the US and Japan, is highly dominated by government issues. |
