| Abstract: | The article deals with the current issues of ethics and morality in organizations. It describes the erroneous assumptions regarding the appropriateness and usefulness of ethics , the dominant (i.e., philosophical) approach, the lack of training on ethical issues, and an overemphasis on the macro-level ethical issues, which are all reasons for the lack of consideration of ethical issues in day-to-day managerial decision-making in organizations. The moral dimensions of management are then approached from a socio-psychological and communicational perspective.Within this context, the article discusses the attribution theory , cognitive distortions, impression management, dichotomy 'dialogue-monologue' and the code of ethics. Finally, the article briefly deals with various strategies of managing ethical conduct in organizations. |
