| Abstract: | Because of support structures and global links, careers in the 21th century will transcend both organizations and individuals. Rooted in identity-building professional organizations and communities and linked by global infrastructures, these careers will be largely boundaryless. They will progress in limitless ways through transactions, jobs, and connections, involving networks of people, places and business. More global links mean more virtual groups and organizations, increased air travel will mean that distances get shorter, in that more traffic leads to more options for travel. |
