| Abstract: | The space industry is considered to be one of the leading-edge high-tech industries given its very substantial expenditure on research and development as a proportion of turnover. To an extent exceeding that in virtually any other branch, the industry's development depends on government intervention. The public sector is one of the industry's most important customers and exerts considerable influence through primarily politically motivated international agreements on space projects and via financial support. |
