| Abstract: | Especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the increasingly global nature of economic relations, quick technological developments and the changes in the hierarchy of supplier and customer relationships throw down new challenges. Many SMEs will merely be able to hold their own in the face of structural change in case they (SMEs) can absorb new knowledge and also can develop in accordance with market requirements. This report describes the most important results of the written survey of companies or firms conducted within the framework of the analysis supported by a German Federal ministry. |
