Abstract:This article examines how men experience non-traditional occupations such as a nurse, librarian, primary school teacher, and working as cabin crew. Especially the dynamics of career entry, career orientations and the possible effects of role strain are examined. The results show that men divide into three groups: those who actively choose female occupation, those who find the career when making general career decisions, and those who settle to non-traditional career after being dissatisfied with their previous masculine job. The existence of role strain is common among men, and possible reasons for it are studied.
