Abstract:This article explores how organizational paternalism is evoked by a culture management programme in order to increase control. Organnizational paternalism is often regarded as a traditional and old-fashioned management style, but most research claims that employers appreciate the "caring" environment it creates. However, it is shown that some employers resist paternalism because it weakens their dignity and sees them as children, who have to be taken care of.
