Abstract:Many scientist like to call themselves Bayesians in that they modify their earlier beliefs based on empirical evidence. In this paper, a Bayesian view is used to make an analysis of the role of base properties of hypothesis tests in the revision of beliefs. Further, the analysis demonstrates the importance of descriptions of research choice for readers to be able correctly revise the beliefs in response to reports of empirical evidence.
