Abstract:The computerization of predominantly mental tasks is as beneficial today as mechanization of routine physical tasks was in the past. Computer applications will eliminate routine decision-making and will aid in the making of complex business decisions. Artificial Intelligence and expert systems, which use computerized models of heuristic reasoning to solve complex problems, are already developed for various specializations of accounting. Discussed is the history, current use, development, applications, benefits and disadvantages of expert systems.
