Abstract: | International human resource management practices and strategies of seven leading British multinationals are examined. Three main issues of staffing policies are examined: the employment of home, host or third country nationals overseas; expatriate performance: the success/failure rate of those on foreign assignments; expatriate policies: covering the selection, training, briefing, compensation and repatriation of individuals on foreign assignments. A number of important differences are observed in the international human resource management practices of British compared with USA multinationals. |
