Abstract: | Corporate barter is a fast spreading industry, mainly in the USA. There are many companies involved in swapping goods and services. Modern barter employs sophisticated, data-processing equipment now commonplace in the financial markets. In barter arrangement the barter company has access to a range of potential customers outside the scope of its normal business operations, allowing the client to realise a better price for its goods. It is described how barter exchange handles a transaction. Like most industries, corporate barter is plagued by unscrupulous operators, who misrepresent the quality and volume of goods available to clients. |
