Abstract:The system of elections in the United States is important to the American system of government. A number of issues that effect the way elections are administered and thus perceived by the voters impact participation in the process and more importantly, the integrity of the results. As such, the activities necessary to conduct an election can be grouped into three areas - the legislative, the election administration and the voiting processes. The legislative process sets the rules under which the elections are administered by the election bureau and the county clerks.
