| Abstract: | Since 1987, the U.S. Consumer Products Division of the company S.C. Johnson and Son Inc. (SCJ), the well-known floor wax producer, has been engaged in the biggest systems project in his history: rewriting and bridging 25 application systems to raise consumer services. THe project called Computer Integration of Consumer Service Systems (CICSS) is nearing completion and well under its USD 5 million budget. The chief factor in the success of the project was cooperation and teamwork. The block diagram of CICSS is presented showing its numerous interrelationship. Electronic data interchange (EDI) is also a part of the SCJ new customer service and logistics system. |
