Abstract:The impact of three dysfunctions in interviewer decision making are examined: similar-to-me effect, personal liking bias and prototype bias. The role of candidate non-verbal behaviour (NVB) in interviewer impression formation is also investigated.Findings show that the graduate interview is used mainly as a personality assessment device.
