Abstract:The British management trainers are amateurs w.r.t. their Japanese counterparts. Three short case-studies of Japan make clear that company education in Japan must be regarded in relation to a number of sociocultural factors. These include tradition, belief in education, a conviction in the necessity of education, aim to excellence and long term company education.
