| Abstract: | A decision support system is described, which is used by Sandia National Laboratories /SNL/ for computer capacity planning. The system aids planning in an environment where there is a need for large-scale scientific computing needs, specific planning documentation is required by the funding source, and the governmental budget is limited. The implementation of the system is based directly on the concepts of relational model management and logic-based model representation and manipulation. The implementation vehicle for this system is an extended version of Prolog, which allows interactions with externally defined computational routines and sources of data. |
